In 1997, Mr. Brown decided that Lafayette needed a full-time title company.  Thus, the idea of Benchmark Title was borne.  Starting off, Benchmark Title had only two employees, who initially worked in the back of Mr. Brown’s law office.

Fast forward to the year 2000, Benchmark Title had outgrown its space.  Mr. Brown decided it was time to expand, so he purchased a building adjacent to his own on the public square.  He added offices, employees, and new customers.

Today, Benchmark Title has six full-time employees and is a fully certified title company. The company has completed the rigorous process of becoming fully CFPB compliant, and can proudly boast that it is one of the few title companies to do so in Middle Tennessee.
